Presentations:

  • Steven Mouzon - Original Green
    • A framework for approaching sustainability and assessing the sustainability of traditional building methods. Mouzon describes the elements of sustainability including aspects that are often overlooked in other "green" circles such as Durability and Lovability.
  • Peter French - Crowdsource Community Planning
    • A proposal for an open source approach to community planning. In response to concerns about the homogeneity of master planned communities and incorporating ideas of web 2.0 and open source, French proposes increasing the quality and diversity of development by involving more people in the process. Contact Peter French or NextGen to get involved.
  • DPZ Charlotte - Light Imprint New Urbanism
    • A product of the Open Space and the CNU New Initiatives forum. In part a response to the idea of "Low Impact Development." Integrating sustainable methods, with a special focus on water, without losing the sustainable benefits of urbanism. DPZ Charlotte is engaging in a process of cataloging useful green methods and coding them according to the Rural-Urban Transect. This initiative will be continued through the "Open Source Congress" later in CNU. Speakers: Tom Low, Nora Black, _____, _____, ______
